Frequently asked questions
Can I transcribe audio for free?
Yes. Files up to 10 minutes are transcribed for free, twice a day. You don’t need an account.
How long does it take?
Usually a few minutes. A one-hour recording is typically ready in 3–5 minutes.
Which file formats work?
Most audio and video formats: MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, MP4, MOV and WebM. Voice memos from iPhone and Android work as they are.
Can you tell different speakers apart?
Yes. With “Separate speakers” on, the text is labelled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on – useful for interviews, meetings and podcasts.
How accurate is it?
Clear speech with little background noise is transcribed very accurately. Strong accents, overlapping speech or poor audio can cause mistakes, so always read the text through.
What happens to my files?
The audio file is deleted as soon as the transcription is finished. The text is kept for 7 days so you can come back to it, and is then deleted automatically.
Can I make subtitles?
Yes. Download the result as .srt and import it into YouTube, Premiere, CapCut or another editor.
